An exciting new addition!
This is where Jeremy has spent his holidays for over 30 years, on Tregirls Farm overlooking the Camel Estuary in Cornwall, and where he met David McWilliam.
David founded Padstow Distilling Co. in 2019. Gin ‘St George’s Well’ is made from local Cornish barley grown on Tregirls Farm. The barley fields overlook the Camel Estuary above St George’s Well, swept daily by the ocean breezes and covered in salty mist. Botanicals are a mix of juniper, citrus and pepper and local Alexanders foraged around Tregirls Farm. The resulting gin is superb!
Gin Rose ‘Hawker’s Cove’, is distilled with juniper, pink peppercorns and small amounts of rose petals. This gives the gin a very smooth flavour with a lovely pale rose colour and is dry and fresh.
The small batch Sloe Gin is made from sloe berries harvested from the Tregirls Farm hedgerows, just yards from the shore. Made in a hearty style, which requires less sugar and more fruit, giving a lovely plummy intensity to the spirit. Distilled to 40% abv, it has a wonderful rich, full flavour.
The Spiced Cranberry and Orange Gin is perfect in a Negroni, or on its own with tonic and a large wedge of orange. Cinnamon, cloves and star anise provide the seasoning, while fresh orange and cranberries provide the zing !
The ‘Gun Point ‘ Vodka, as with the Gin, is distilled in very small batches from local barley and local fresh Cornish spring water, with meticulous attention to detail and flavour. It comes in a beautiful new bottle, and won a Gold Medal at the 2024 International Wine and Spirit Competition.
