No doubt you are aware that the government has decided not to continue with its current easement scheme and therefore from 1st February 2025 all alcoholic products will have duty applied to them according to their ABV in 0.5% increments. Additionally, there will be an increase of 3.65% in the rate at which duty is applied which means duty will rise on most wines. The greatest increases impact those wines of 14.0% and 14.5% ABV which previously fell within the parameters of the easement scheme, but which now are subject to much higher duty. Here is a table which outlines the changes:

To provide our customers with as much certainty and confidence as possible, we have been working hard with our suppliers to gather the relevant information on ABV and prices. We have looked to keep increases to a minimum, but our new pricing will reflect the changes in duty and any new supplier cost prices for current vintages. These new prices will be valid until the publication of our Autumn 2025 list, with the only exceptions those wines where new vintages or calamitous weather might bring changes from our suppliers.
