CHÂTEAU LA TOUR DE BY
MĖDOC
A sizeable and excellent property right up at the northern tip of the Medoc, and a staple of the Thorman Hunt Bordeaux portfolio. The chateau is run by two of the grandsons of Marc Pagès, Frédéric Le Clerc and Benjamin Richer des Forges and a particular characteristic of the Chateau is a significant stock of more mature vintages, which we can draw from. This ensures we can continue to list wines with up to 10 years’ maturity, 2014, 2015 and 2016 are perfect for drinking now. The blend is made up of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot and is fermented in traditional foudres with a 4-week cuvaison. This is then followed by 16
months in new to 3-year old barriques.
Château Cailloux de By has a higher percentage of Merlot in the blend making it a more approachable yet still classic Medoc style.
