DOMAINE CORDAILLAT
REUILLY
Located on the western side of the Centre Loire, Reuilly is a historic appellation producing distinctive, terroir-driven wines. Sauvignon Blanc was granted AOC status in 1937, with Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris following in 1961.
The landscape is gently undulating, with clay limestone soils on the slopes and sandy plateaus contributing to diversity and finesse. The 16-hectare estate was founded in 1995 and is now run by Pascal Dethune, who is committed to sustainable and low intervention viticulture. Certified organic since 2014 and HVE Level 3 since 2019, his approach prioritises soil health and biodiversity with a clear focus on producing clean, expressive wines.
Reuilly Blanc “Tradition” is a precise and elegant Sauvignon Blanc, this cuvée is a blend of 11 individual plots, each harvested separately at optimal ripeness. Only the press juice is used, and vinification takes place entirely in stainless steel to preserve purity and freshness. The result is a lifted, aromatic wine with citrus and white florals on the nose, vibrant acidity, and a soft, rounded texture on the palate. A superb alternative to Sancerre or Pouilly Fumé at a more accessible price point.
Reuilly Rouge “Tradition” is produced from 20-year-old Pinot Noir vines, this wine undergoes a careful sorting process in the vineyard followed by a cold maceration before fermentation. It shows bright, crunchy red fruit and a subtle earthiness. Light on extraction, it is expressive and charming in its youth but has the structure to develop over 3 to 5 years. A refined Loire Pinot with excellent food pairing potential.
