VINSOBRES
We are delighted to introduce Chaume-Arnaud to our Southern Rhône portfolio. Vinsobres is the most Northerly of the Crus in the Southern Rhone and one of the highest at 400 to 450 metres. Organic since 1997 and biodynamic since 2003.
Vinsobres benefits not only from the Mistral (from the North) but also the ‘Pontias’ which blows from the East, and from the pre-Alps. They own 38 hectares, two of which are in neighbouring St Maurice.
The range starts with a scrumptious Vin de Pays named after their local wind ‘le Pontias’ made from vines on their lower slopes, Caladoc, Syrah, Merlot.
A Côtes du Rhône from the foot of the Vinsobres slopes, Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault. Saint Maurice, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, and Vinsobres made from Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvedre and Counoise.
Fermentation takes place in concrete tanks and there is no oak ageing. A very fine range.
