DOMAINE LA COLLIÈRE
RASTEAU
Georges Perrot is a protégé of André Roméro and originally made wine from 20 hectares in André’s old cellars. Georges has now moved into new purpose-built cellars in the village and we are sure the wines will become better and better. Quantities are limited as the queue of négociants wanting to buy his wine in bulk reads like a who’s who – from Chave to Guigal and many others. The style is totally different from André Roméro and is almost Burgundian in its finesse. We felt we had to take him on and these wines are so different from Domaine la Soumade, they complement each other.
Georges’ very fine white is partly barrel fermented in demi-muid. The blend is 70% Grenache Blanc, 30% Clairette and the vines are over 60 years old.
