CHÂTEAU TRIANON
SAINT ÉMILION
Producing a sublimely silky, plush, sensual wine, the property comprises 10 hectares on soils of clay, sand and iron-trace red stone. The vines’ average age is 35 years and the blend is 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% very old vine Carmenère (which really makes a wonderful contribution!). All picking is by hand, vinification is in stainless steel vats and, after malolactic in barrel, the wine is matured in 60% new oak for 16 months
Dominique Hébrard’s first vintage was 2001 and, since then, every vintage has been absolutely delicious. The aim for Château Trianon is to gain Grand Cru Classé status as Dominique achieved with Château Bellefont Belcier.
