CHÂTEAU CROIX DE LABRIE
SAINT ÉMILION
Croix de Labrie consists of just over 5 hectares, and is a project of our friends Pierre and Axel Coudourie, who bought the property in 2013. It is run just like a small garden. Perhaps this our first ‘garage wine’! The wines are highly rated by the critics and are delicious!
The vines are situated close to Pavie and Valandraud and a few close to their cellars. The grape mix is around 82% Merlot, 13% cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet franc. 20% of the wine is made using their own micro vinification in 500 litre barrels, and 65% in stainless steel vats.
The wines are then aged for 20 to 22 months in barrel, 65% of which are new. Importantly very low sulphur amounts are added at bottling. We are delighted to have a small allocation and Pierre has offered us two older and drinkable vintages. Chateau Croix de Labrie is Grand Cru Classé since 2022 vintage.
