Barbera d’Asti producer Pino (Giuseppe) and Mauro Pavia have 10 hectares on clay soil between 200 and 280 metres above sea level. Futhermore, their well maintained vines are between fifteen and fifty years old. The superb entry level Barbera d’Asti Casareggio is aged partly in stainless steel and partly in botte, and bottled in May following the harvest.
Their Barbera d’Asti Blina spends a year in steel before bottling. Barbera d’Asti Moliss is aged is a mixture of Austrian oak botte and French demi-muids. Similarly, Barbera d’Asti La Marescialla is aged in Allier oak barriques for 12 months (50% new), and then for a further year in bottle before release.
