DOMAINE ERIC BOIGELOT
Meursault
The Boigelot family have been cultivating vines since 1918. Eric learned his craft at Coche-Dury before founding his own 3.5h Domaine in Monthélie where his family have had land for generations.
Today Eric and his wife Patricia tend 9h around Meursault, Monthélie, Volnay, and Pommard. The Boigelot’s relocated the winery to Meursault in 1998. Eric is now joined by his son, Charles who followed in his father’s footsteps by having a stage Coche-Dury and, in addition Paul Pillot.
For the Pinots, Charles and Eric use gentle extraction to create fine and precise aromatics. The vinification is carried out with native yeasts, if required some does of SO2. The wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels, then 6 months in vats, a gentle filtration is carried out before bottling.
The Chardonnays are harvested at the precise moment to obtain a low PH but with ripeness. The wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels then 3 months in vats. A gentle filtration is carried out before bottling.
Eric has always been committed to sustainable viticulture; Charles has been introducing an organic philosophy to the vineyards
