CHÂTEAU ANDRON BLANQUET
SAINT ESTÈPHE
The Audoy family aquired Château Andron Blanquet in 1971. Although it is next to Château Cos Labory, it is a separate property with its own separate chai. The estate is known for producing lovely, very reliable succulent Saint-Estèphe.
The property is small with only 16 hectares of vines; in a similar fashion to Cos Labory, it also posses gravel over a marly limestone subsoil in the vineyards. Although ratios vary from year to year, it often maintains a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc.
Winemaking at Château Andron Blanquet is similar to Cos Labory but only 20% new oak is used in the ageing.
