CHÂTEAU COS LABORY
Both Cos Labory and Andron Blanquet are surrounded by three illustrious neighbours, Château Lafite, Château Cos d’Estournel and Château Lafon Rochet. These wines have for too long been forgotten and under the radar. Bernard Audoy is now making super wines at both properties that merit attention and offer great value – a treat!
The encépagement is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Following fermentation in a combination of stainless steel and lined cement vats, the wine is aged for 18 months in barriques (30%-50% new each year).
Château Andron Blanquet, a separate property with its own separate chai, makes lovely succulent St Estèphe. Winemaking is similar but only 20% new oak is used.
